Use Augmented Reality to Turn Chores Into Fun Games

Why?

Most of us don’t like doing chores like vacuum cleaning, washing the floor, making the bed, etc. How can we make it more fun?

How?

Use augmented reality (wearing smart glasses) help us gamify the chore. The app should be smart enough to create an award system (point, badges) based on the activity by measuring time, the number of things done, the area covered, frequency, etc. Also allow sharing and inviting others to compete and show leaderboards.

Make Your Real Book Interactive

Why?

You cannot click on a word in a real book to get more information like you can in an ebook reader.

How?

By wearing an augmented reality device (like Google Glass) that can also visually track what you’re doing (like hand gestures), you can simulate the act of clicking on anything in a book and see more information about it projected on the page you are reading.

Don’t Miss the Deals That Are All Around You All The Time

Why?

There is a disconnect between when you usually get exposed to ads and when you actually need them. You might read about a deal at work in you an email. Maybe get it in the post at home. When you need it might be on the way home a week from now, and by then you won’t remember what it was, where you put it or how to use it.

How?

Use the smartphone or smart eyewear. It will show you what ads, deals and coupons you have around you. Point it in a direction and see all of them superimposed on the view (augmented reality). You can also scan the ads with the app and it will alert you when you are around the place advertising.

Summer/Winter Augmented Reality App

Why?

To show how “things were” in the past.

How?

Use the app to take a photo series (a pano) of a place (your garden) in the winter. In the summer open the app while standing at the same spot and aiming the phone in the same direction and height. As you move the app will also pan the photo shown of the winter scene.
