Get Your Own Personal Exhibition Catalog

Why?

For the museum, it’s a way to sell more books by having different price levels. The visitor gets a chance to personalize their book and get one at the price level they want to spend (not necessarily cheaper.)

How?

Every time the visitor sees an exhibit they would like in their book, they select it (using an app, a special device they get when they enter, etc.) When they finish with the exhibition, they choose the type of book they want (how many pages, size, the amount of text, level of production quality, etc.) and after a short time they can pick it up at the museum shop printed especially for them just the way they wanted.

Audiobook Highlights and Notes

Why?

You are listening to an audiobook, and you hear something you would like to “highlight” or write a note about.

How?

Have a function in your audiobook player to mark a section of the audiobook, phrase or a short sentence. You should also have an option to add your own note to that “highlighted” section. This – converted to text – should be accessible as a list of marginalia in the book.

Wake Up to Morning Sights and Sounds

Why?

A novel way to wake up.

How?

A wake-up function of your wall mounted TV. You set the time you want to wake up, and the TV set will turn on a short while before (5–30 minutes) and show a video of the sun rising and the sounds that go along with it, at a growing volume. You can pick from different sceneries and sounds, like a forest with birds and animals, a city back yard with birds and street noises, etc.

Pet Guide for Parents

Why?

Your kids are begging you for a pet. It would be good to know in advance what it takes to have one.

How?

A guide that shows you – separately for each animal – what it takes to have one at home. Details such as eating habits, smells, typical life span, amount, and detail of care needed, what can you do if it’s not a good fit for your family after all, what to do when going on a trip, etc.

Continue Reading Your Physical Book on Your Ebook Reader

Why?

You are going somewhere and don’t want to carry the physical book with you, but would still want to continue reading it.

How?

A function of the ebook software on your smartphone or tablet that allows you to point the camera at the page you are currently reading in your physical book. The app will recognize it and take you to the same spot in the ebook so you can continue reading.
