The Beta Club for Cutting Edge Buyers

Why?

Companies need early adopters and raving fans to beta test their products and services. These buyers like to be on the cutting edge.

How?

Have an insiders club where buyers apply to join. They should show some proof that they are true cutting edge buyers in areas of interest to them. In return, when they are accepted they’ll get access to cutting edge new products and services first, well ahead of the market. They’ll also have an opportunity (and responsibility if they want to stay members) to help shape these products’ final version. Everything they buy has a money back guarantee, so no risk for them. Companies pay to access these club members.

Put the Customer in the Advertisement

Why?

It’s getting harder to get the attention of potential or existing customer with our ads.

How?

When communicating with them through advertising using personal channels like email, instead of just showing them how others are benefiting their life with our product, put them inside the ad. If Coca-Cola is now showing young people in their ad’s image it would be good if we could insert a photo of the customer into the ad showing him how his life is good with Coke.

Teaching Encryption to Kids

Why?

It’s important not only because of the constantly connected world we live in, or the increasing government prying into our private lives but also as an important concept and a way of thinking.

How?

Games that are fun to play and teach the player many aspects of encryption. The more games they play the more complex concepts and techniques they learn.

Youth Day/Week at Retail Stores

Why?

For the tweens and teens, it’s an opportunity to see how working works and show they can do more. For retailers, it’s a chance for publicity and showing potential future workers it can be a good career.

How?

Have the young adults apply for different jobs at the stores. Interview them and pick the ones that fit. Then train them little by little (could be a whole semester’s course), then have a day or a week when they operate the store (with not so visible supervision.)

Map of Influential Bloggers’ Presence Online

Why?

To see visually where these bloggers are publishing their writings and get a birds eye view of their network of influence.

How?

Write a crawler that would scan the internet and map who publishes where. Using this constantly expanding database you could see a map of influence for a specific influencer: where is his main point of influence and what other publications is he using to enhance his footprint and influence.
