Help With Taking What You Wrote Out of the Drawer

Why?

Many people write, but nobody ever sees the fruits of their work, many times because they are afraid.

How?

A website where users can publish a sample of their work (maybe a chapter from their book) – anonymously, and others help them by reading and reviewing. The anonymity is key.

Subscription to All of an Author’s Books

Why?

  1. For authors it’s a dependable income source, and also creates a community of real fans that can be further monetized.
  2. For fans, it’s a low-cost solution to having their favorite author’s entire oeuvre, a more direct connection to the author and also to belong to a community of like-minded people.

How?

A subscription service for authors that for a very low price ($1/month) gives the readers access to all the books the author has already written. Other facets are can include:
1. Sneak peeks at new books.
2. An online (and offline) community of like-minded people sharing their thoughts.
3. A communication channel for and to the author.
The point is not so much to make a profit out of this monthly fee, as much as to build a community of raving fans that can be monetized by other means like selling special editions, swag, etc.

A Publisher for Self-Publishing Authors

Why?

Although anyone can self-publish today, and many do and make an excellent living doing so, the publishing side of it is very different than the writing side.

How?

Create a publishing house that specializes in self-publishing authors. Instead of the two current options – do it all yourself or give it all to the publisher – this publishing house is in between these options. It cooperates with the author and shares the work and duties, contributing the unique expertise needed like marketing, editing, etc., and also shares the income generated by the cooperation.

Marketplace for Blog Guest Posts

Why?

Guest posting is a growing phenomenon on blogs. It has many benefits for both the blogger writing the post and the blog publishing it.

How?

A marketplace where blog publishers and writers (most of the time one is both) can find authors to write guest posts for them and also to offer their guest post writing to other blog publishers. Each member can describe in his profile if they want to write guest posts, are looking to publish other writers’ guest posts or both. They can showcase previous works, their blogs and other relevant information regarding how they work and what they offer and expect.
