Things to Do While…

Why?

There are always things you want or need to do that are time-consuming but not necessarily attention heavy, like walking, running, cleaning your house, etc.

How?

Publish ideas submitted by users, for doing useful or enjoyable (and hopefully both) things that are uniquely suited for doing in parallel in these situations.

Very Short Pop Up Flash Sale

Why?

Help convert the ones who are just a step before buying.

How?

When a visitor seems to be interested in an item (he spent more than average time on that page, scrolling back and forward reading, etc.), but then seemed to not buy the item and move on to something else (still on your website), you can pop up a one time offer that has a very short time limit (one minute should be more than enough.) It might say something like this: “Get XYZ for $79 instead of the usual $139 price. This offer is only good if you add it to your cart within the next 00:48 seconds.” (The time is an active countdown.) Once it’s in the cart, it should have a small text saying that the discount is only valid if they buy it during their current visit. This will help keep them from abandoning the cart and not finishing the purchase.

Who’s the Fastest Ride Now

Why?

Instead of checking different ride offerings (Uber, Lyft, etc.) for the quickest and/or pickup.

How?

A “meta” app that shows you which service is the quickest to pick you up and which is the cheapest currently.

Certified Publication Time Service

Why?

It would be beneficial in some cases to have a certified publication time for something you published online.

How?

A service you subscribe to, that saves the published content at a given URL with a time stamp. You get a badge that shows on that page certifying the time it was published. It links to the original content saved at the service provider.

“Angry Time” Family App

Why?

For that problematic moment when you are angry at each other.

How?

Every member of the family has the app installed on their smartphone. When one of you feels that “that” moment has arrived, and there is no point (or they just don’t want) in continuing the argument, they press the button. Everybody’s phone beeps and from now on its “waiting and letting go” time. This continues until all have pressed the “I’m ok now” button (or an agreed upon time has been reached – the length of which was decided when you all installed the app). When all have pressed the button, only then all will get the “all clear” alert.
