Take the Museum Shop Into the Exhibition

Why?

Why wait until the end, let the visitors pick up an item when they are most inspired to.

How?

Place merchandise inside the exhibition right next to the exhibits themselves – the right items beside the right exhibits. This way the visitors can take a look, pick it up, and pay on their way out.

Book Pairings in Retail

Why?

Attention and increased revenue.

How?

Promote in-store book pairings by showing 2–3 books that go together. Either because if someone liked one they would probably like the others, or just as an interesting juxtaposition.

Food Week for Non-Food Retail Stores

Why?

A fun way to increase attention and revenue.

How?

Advertise a week for a type of food: chocolate, cookies, etc. During that week you will pair a particular specimen of the food product type with a product category at the store. For instance, if a chocolate week is going on, and it’s a bookstore, you might have dark chocolate for sale besides the wine books, chili flavored chocolate besides romantic novels, etc.

Secrets of Special Exhibits for Kids

Why?

Make the visit to an exhibition more fun for the kids (and their parents.)

How?

Write secret facts and stories specifically for kids for specific exhibits. These are only visible to kids if they wear special glasses, or flash a special light around the exhibit and find these secret writings.
