You get daily reminders from Facebook of online friends that have their birthday that day. You like being nice to people and send them your best wishes, even if they are not close friends. Why not automate this further?

How?

Since a lot of your online friends might not be very close to you, it would be an excellent automation feature if you could have a “standard” greeting to send automatically, something you change yearly. When you get a reminder that someone has their birthday that day, you also get to click a button to use the standard greeting for that year.

An online software that given a departure and destination cities, and a date, will show you a table of ways to travel to that city: by train, bus, airplane, boat, etc. You can get information on travel time, cost, and other details so you can decide what’s best for you.

Why?

You should know what colors look good on you and what colors to avoid.

How?

An app that takes a picture of your face analyzes the color of your hair, your skin, and your eyes. Based on the analysis it gives you advice on what colors to avoid and in which colors you will look good.

 

Get External Information When Visiting a Company’s Web Page

Why?

To give you a better perspective (financial status, lawsuits, etc.) on them and not just what they show and tell.

How?

A browser plugin that shows you relevant external information. The information is served from a service that crawls data about companies from many sources. For the more popular companies, the data is augmented and edited by humans.

 

Get More Sleep if the Weather Is…

Why?

If the weather is bad, you might want to wake up later (no need to go running in a snow storm.)

How?

An alarm clock (app) that you can program to wake you up at different times in the morning depending on the weather.
