Build the Timeline of Your Past

Why?

To have a visual representation of the memorable moments of your past, and do it in an easy way.

How?

An app. Scan or take a photo of your physical memories like the medal you won at school, an old photo, the love letter your first boyfriend sent you, etc. When you are ready, you will see a timeline on screen. Just drag and drop the picture of the memory on the year, then when it zooms adjust its place by dragging it to the month, it happened in. If you know the exact date, you can enter it too, but most of these memories will be at a year, season or month level of accuracy. You can always expand this repository of your past, add notes to each memory, publish it as an image online, print it, publish as an interactive live timeline online, etc.

Publication Trail Based on Time

Why?

See the timeline of a news story, who published it first, and who got it from whom.

How?

Scan all the leading news publications online and identify the same news stories in all of them. Then build a timeline based on when they were published using both the date stamp of the publication if available, and the discovery time stamp. This will enable us in the long run, to establish online influence patterns.

Multi Level Curation Network on Specific Subjects

Why?

There are many good sources of information, editorials, and advice on specific subjects. The problem is, there are much more bad or average ones as well, sometimes overwhelmingly so.

How?

Build a multi-level network of editors that scout for and curate the best in each subject matter.
An editor starts as a volunteer at the lowest level by submitting materials he scouts on the web on a subject matter. The next level editors receive these materials and transfer only the ones they deem as good enough to the next step editors. This goes on until the last top editor decides – from the materials that made it up to his level – what to publish at that time on the subject matter.
An editor gets to the next level when:
1. There is an opening there because someone left or the editorial team at that level is expanding.
2. And he has proved he is a good editor by submitting a lot of material that makes it to publication.
All editors and their status are listed in the publication.

Share Your Analog Past With Your Friends

Why?

Just because the old pictures you find are prints and are not available digitally, doesn’t mean you can’t share them immediately with your friends.

How?

Simply take a picture of the printed picture and share with your friends on Facebook, or send by email. The objective is sharing and reminiscing, not the quality of the image. An app could also be created specifically for nostalgia picture between friends, but it might be redundant.

Don’t Forget Your Good Daily Habits When on Vacation

Why?

You have picked up a couple of new daily habits. These are already habits, so you don’t need to remind yourself to do them. Now you are on vacation, and everything falls apart – you forget to do them.

How?

Before going on your vacation make an appointment in your calendar to remind yourself to do what is usually a habit. Look at your itinerary and for each day decide in advance when you are going to perform a given habit, and block it in tour calendar. This is only tentative, as you are on vacation, and things flow differently than at home, but at least you’ll get a reminder. If you used a habit tracking app, you could also start using it again.
