Rate Answers by Users Paying for Them

Why?

As a good measurement of what was the right answer.

How?

Allow users to donate how much they want (maybe even less than 1 dollar cent), based on their satisfaction of the result they got in the SERP. This will give a better indication as to what is a really useful answer to a specific query.

How Long Until You Get an Appointment?

Why?

You need some medical advice or some procedure done, and would like to know how long before you can get an appointment with the best in the field.

How?

A regularly updated web page listing the best doctors in each field of practice, based on location. For each one, you can see how much you’ll probably need to wait before you could see them. These are based on factual data provided by the practitioners, or if that is not available then based on past experiences reported by patients.

Crowd Sourced Best Practices

Why?

Many times and in many different fields there are varying opinions as to how to do things. Let the crowds decide.

How?

Allow users to suggest subjects they want to find out best practices about, like how much time to cook roast beef, what’s the best way to remove coffee stains, etc. Then allow others to write what they think are the best practices. Finally, let people vote what they think is the best practice.

Find Unknown Books That You Might Want to Read

Why?

Mostly you are influenced by people close to you or the media, as to what you might want to read. What if you could discover an excellent book that you might like that you would never get otherwise?

How?

A website and app where members have first to list any good book they just read. After a while, the system will start producing a list of books by analyzing all the recommendations of the members, finding out the most valued books, and discard all of the books that are publicly popular (by scanning major “best” lists.) The resulting list will have all the best-recommended books that are not publicly popular – the unknown gems.
